Mississippi State University is a major land grant university. The Sustainable Bioproducts (formerly Forest Products) Department serves the land grant mission through teaching, research, and service.

Programming is largely focused on adding value to timberlands through developing products and markets. The Sustainable Bioproducts Department seeks to:

• Advance manufacturing practices;
• Improve and develop novel products through sustainable utilization and stewardship of forests and other natural resources;
• Provide students with world-class education;
• Conduct meaningful, timely, and innovative research; and
• Cultivate long-lasting relationships with those who support and promote sustainability nationally and abroad.
